What to Expect After Installation

Important care instructions, curing expectations, and disclaimers for your ProView window tint installation.

CARING FOR YOUR TINT
& WHAT TO EXPECT

Contaminants

For every tint shop, achieving a 100% dust-free tint installation is impossible. A truly great ”Grade A” tint job, by industry standards, sets a maximum of 1 to 2 small dust particles per window. We personally strive to be even better than this high standard. Because window film is an aftermarket

application of a wet, sticky, static-charged adhesive by-hand, in an automotive garage rather than a sterile laboratory or hospital-grade cleanroom, minor contamination particles is an industry-accepted reality for all high rated tint companies in Arizona. ProView Auto Glass & Tint has master tinters in house, so we are extremely meticulous in regards to particles, but educating our customers about tint particle

realities is very important, in order to set realistic expectations of how tint really works. A low rated tint shop will typically have many contaminants. ProView Auto Glass & Tint goes by industry standard of the well known “5 foot rule.” This means, if a speck or fiber cannot be seen from a standing distance of 5 feet

away, in sunlight, it is considered a high quality installation. Location is Everything: Any contaminant in the driver’s direct line of sight is typically considered unacceptable for our shop, and eligible for warranty work.

Curing & Moisture

Window film is a wet-application product. Your tint will need to “cure,” aka dry out to be complete/look its best. During the curing process, it is completely normal to see residual “moisture” trapped between the film and the glass. This may appear as streaking, haziness, cloudiness, or small water bubbles/pockets. Do not panic or attempt to press/squeegee on these areas, as it can damage the tint during the curing process. As mentioned above, this is completely normal and it will naturally disappear/clear up, as that moisture evaporates and “cures.” This is not the same as a poor tint job with large bubbles or creasing. Complete dry-out/curing can take anywhere from 5 days to 20 days depending on the season. Do Not Roll Down Windows for a minimum of 3 to 5 days. Do not clean tint or wipe tint the first week. If the tint has been tampered with or damaged by a customer during the curing process, it is not eligible for warranty- so please be patient and let your tint cure properly.

Cleaning Tint

Do not clean your tint for at least one week. The best way to clean tinted windows is by using soft cloth or paper towels, no scratchy material. Remember the interior side of the windows is where the tint is placed, not the exterior of your vehicle. Abrasive materials will permanently scratch the tint. We do

not recommend using ammonia based products such as windex, unless it is ammonia-free. Over time, ammonia can react to the chemicals in the film to become hazy and blotchy. Stick to soap/water or a gentle cleaner! ProView Auto Glass & Tint is not responsible for damage done to film after an install related to cleaning or scratching.

Physical Care Expectation

Window tint is a hard, resistant layer, but not invincible. While the film is a resilient coating, it can still be gouged, nicked, or scratched by seatbelt buckles, jewelry, animals, kids, or sharp objects. Proview is not responsible for any personal damage inflicted to the tint after installation, however we are happy to repair your tint and work with you on a solution, because life happens. Stripping and replacing damaged
film on one window is more affordable than people assume, so call us if you damage your tint. We can help.

Legal Compliance

We strictly adhere to state and local window tinting laws. Any film applied beyond Arizona’s legal limits is installed for off-road, show car, or medical-exemption use. When getting a customer preferred %, they acknowledge that they have been advised of the legal VLT (Visible Light Transmission) percentage, and accept full responsibility for any citations, fines, or accidents resulting from illegal window darkness.

Harmonic Distortion

If you are wearing polarized glasses, you may or may not see minor anomalies on the glass, (rainbows, lines, or marks are a few examples) which are an inherent result of the glass tempering processes such a tint. ProView Auto Glass & Tint is not responsible for these anomalies. Most customers do not have this issue, but some are more sensory sensitive, which we understand. If you wish to have tint removed, we are happy to do so, but there is an additional fee.

Heat Retention

Window tint significantly reduces heat by blocking UV rays and infrared heat, but it is not an air conditioner or a thermos when the vehicle sits in your garage or outside for hours. Some customers assume the vehicle will never be hot again, while their car sits. No tint is capable of being a thermos with a sitting vehicle. It’s simply not the purpose of tint. What it does do is make your drive dramatically more comfortable once you’re on the road. If your vehicle sits, the cabin, seats, dashboard, and other materials still absorb and retain heat-especially in Arizona summers. Tint greatly helps reduce how much heat enters the vehicle, but it does not prevent heat buildup entirely while a vehicle is off. When on the road, tint helps your vehicle cool down much faster, stays more comfortable while driving, and your A/C doesn’t work as hard.

Previous Glass Damage

We are not responsible for previously damaged glass made by a customer. Having a small scratch or nick on your vehicle’s windows can become more apparent after applying tint because the film is tightly applied flush to your interior windows, so if there is a nick or scratch out of the glass, the tint simply won’t cure flush to those areas and be more contrasted. Some customers may not have seen or noticed the damage they had, and that’s ok. We are happy to replace the glass through our sister company ProView Auto Glass, and re-tint the window for a single window tint fee, if desired. This doesn’t happen often, but we like to inform customers that it does happen from time to time.

All disclaimers are of industry standard/typical for Grade A, high rated tint shops. Thank you for choosing ProView Auto Glass & Tint We appreciate your business!
